Meet Lisa

I have been doing CrossFit since 2004 and a former regional level competitor (2010 – 2013). I am a CrossFit Level 2 trainer and also a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Specialist.

After having my second son I decided to change careers from a high school English teacher of 12 years, to a pregnancy and postpartum athleticism trainer.

I never thought I would change careers; however, this has become my heart project that I cannot ignore. I am on a mission to help moms avoid the misinformation, confusion, panic, pain, and fear that I experienced returning to CrossFit and during daily physical demands of motherhood. Even though advertisements on social media show a “one size fits all” answer for postpartum fitness, each situation is drastically different. I will provide you with an individualized approach to both empower you and also heal your mind and body.

After having my own abdominoplasty/tummy tuck procedure I have found that it is very rare for women to have specific guidance on return to fitness after “clearance” from the surgeon. A similar issue as with postpartum but with even less guidance,  often accompanied with more shame and guilt.

Therefore, helping women recover from these surgeries has become another passion of mine, along with normalizing the length of the process.  Each woman needs a unique plan depending on surgery procedure and movement goals; but, there is a way to recover with intention and progressive strategy.  I will provide you with an individualized plan that will help you feel empowered throughout the healing process.

Testimonials

“Meeting with Lisa for an in-person consultation helped me to get on the right track during my pregnancy. My coaches are great but didn’t have any knowledge about how to coach a pregnant athlete. I took what I learned from Lisa back to my coaches and was able to continue Crossfit throughout my entire pregnancy. I highly recommend booking a consultation with her!”

I was so grateful for Lisa’s insight into my issues, as well as her CARE for my recovery! I wasn't recovering as quickly as they expected from my tummy tuck. Was something wrong? Did I do something wrong? I've been so careful. It wasn't until I started seeing Lisa and learning how to move safely that I began to feel better! I'm glad she is taking such a strong role in an area where there's really no guidance because women need Lisa and people like her to help them navigate their post surgery bodies!

Before I did personal training with Lisa I would sometimes feel that I was not heard because I couldn’t recognize my own fears as roadblocks to training. Those fears I could not put into words. It’s different now because I recognize that I needed more than I could convey. It wasn’t until finding Lisa and feeling heard for the first time that allowed me to feel more confident.

Post C-section 3 years, I finally am not experiencing back pain. It’s important for me to tell you that if you are in pain and you need to try something different- to listen to that voice. Lisa listens, is supportive, and professional.

She has helped me repair my relationship with working out.

I was told, “you’ll have to live with incontinence forever after becoming a mom,” along with much more. I refused and was on a search to find someone who could help me. With the first conversation with Lisa on Instagram I sat crying with hope I could be back to myself and without debilitating symptoms. The first month of remote coaching we had a phone consultation and then she worked with me on my strategies through video analysis of my movements. Once we got that working well, the symptoms were 95% gone by the second month!!!! Lisa changed my thoughts, taught me to never give up, self advocate, and know that THERE IS HELP! I’m so grateful for her, her knowledge, compassion, and confident coaching. She helped me recognize my strengths, and to hear her confidently say, “I’m going to help you the best I can,” was the most reassuring feeling in the world!

”I looooooove working with Lisa for remote coaching! So supportive and knowledgable. I never feel like I’m bothering her and she really programs to where I am at. I’m 2.5 years postpartum and STILL needed to work on my core strength after babies. She has helped me improve more in the past 3 months than in the past 3 years by myself. Highly recommend!
